Difference between an ';Operating'; and a ';Data'; hardrive?

Well. On the custom rig site I am ordering from you have to list what operating and data hardrive you want but I don't know the difference. My first guess is that the OS is installed on the Operating hardrive. Can anyone tell me what the deal is here? Also would a computer with Operating and Data Hardrive be pretty much the same as having just 2 Data drives? Thanks in advance guys.Difference between an ';Operating'; and a ';Data'; hardrive?
The operating HDD is the one you boot in to. I guess your data would be on the other one.Difference between an ';Operating'; and a ';Data'; hardrive?
You use some thing like a Raptor to boot off and play games, and use a large but 'slower' one for storing pictures and videos. However The 7200.10 Barracuda isn't far off and sometimes also bets the Raptor, however the differences between te to are so small you wouldn't notice. So save a couple of quid and get a barracuda
Yep, the ''Operating'' HDD is the one the OS will be loaded on, and will be booted to. The ''Data'' HDD is for just what it sounds like its for....data. You can put anything you want on this drive.
