1/10. -9 for dell
So is there any good notebook companies. I checked ASUS they've got the same video card as this one, but selling about $200 more. but will the HDD actually make a BIG difference in gaming?
Don't mind them. lol It's a good Laptop. And the hard-drive doesn't suck and it's not too bad for gaming.
That's a pretty damn nice notebook. I'm giving it an 8/10.
I just ordered an ASUS C90S with a C2D Conroe 2.66 ghz 1066FSB, 8600M GT 512MB, 3GB DDR2 677 RAM, 160GB 5400rpm HDD, 1680x1050 15.4'' screen, 3 year warranty, and carrying case for only $1902.31 (USD). Quite a bit better for only slightly more and it's fully upgradable. The only downside is the slightly smaller display and resolution, though ASUS is apparently supposed to be coming out with a 17'' version of this same laptop soon. You might also wait a while until 8800M's are available if you can. I would, but unfortunately I need mine by the beginning of September at the latest. 1902.31 USD is 1989.91 Canadian according to Google exchange rate btw.
1/10. -9 for dell
what's wrong with dell
For one thing they tend to be extremely overpriced.

I own an alienware laptop area 51 m5550 and i love it for gaming. I received it about 3 months ago. I play alot of games on it. My cpu runs at 2ghz and ram is 1Gb. My HDD is 80GB running at 5400RPM and my video card is Nvidia Geforce Go 7600. This laptop meets all my needs. It came to $2100 Canadian becuase i had to get it shipped by air to my place, that cost me a bit, but well worth. No matter what, i will never buy a dell, they are simply a mock of all the hard work put into laptops/PC, sure the specs look nice but i will still never go for it, especially if you are a hardcore gamer, My favorite would be the HP and the HDD wont be a problem, if you think it would, buy the laptop, lose the warranty and put in another faster 2.5'' HDD...good luck
This post is so ironic. You say ''No matter what, i will never buy a dell'', and go on to say you bought alienware. The irony is that Dell bought out alienware months ago. lol
I own an alienware laptop area 51 m5550 and i love it for gaming. I received it about 3 months ago. Any prebuilt sucks for gaming
Any prebuilt sucks for gaming
Well, then why don't you part me out an awesome gaming laptop (since this is what this thread is about)? And then, can you tell how to put it all together?
Its a good laptop. My friend has a similar laptop and he has been able to max out most games.
Any prebuilt sucks for gaming
No. Generally, only store-bought prebuilts from the likes of HP and Acer suck for gaming. You can get some AWESOME gaming rigs from Dell, Gateway, and those few ''boutique'' manufacturers like Voodoo PC.In fact, Dell's XPS 720 H20 (or whatever the hell it's called) is probably the best-spec'd machine for gaming I've ever seen. Factory-overclocked quad-cores to 3.73GHz, dual 8800 Ultras, and a plethora of other drool-worthy components.
