My friend has my old 1024x768 and it pooped out so hes getting a 1440x900 widescreen will he lose peroformance to a point of no return? He only spends 150$ on a g-card every year so hes not gonna upgrade just answer the question lolPerformance drop? HD 2600XT GDDR4 + 1440x900
depends what game really, but i doubt it will go down that much.Performance drop? HD 2600XT GDDR4 + 1440x900
higher res. pushed the GPU more, so who knows, maybe.
He should get a 8600GT and overclock the hell outta it,that'll kill the HD 2600XT GDDR4.

mainly just CSS and BF2
10x2 is not that much smaller than 14x9 - he shouldn't suffer from much in the way of a performance hit.Of course, if he's not changing the card and is definitely getting the monitor, why bother asking?
