Is there little to no difference between 8800gts and 2900xt at 1600x1200?

All the marks where the 2900 eats up the 8800gts seem to be at very very high resolutions. My monitor only goes up to 1600x1200, and I have no reason to replace it. So will I see no difference at that res. Which one is the better buy?Is there little to no difference between 8800gts and 2900xt at 1600x1200?

IMO, I agree. The performance difference is so minimal, it really wouldn't matter.

yeah basically, the 640mb only makes a difference in a few games in that res. I don't know if that will change in the future though. But the 320MB is still good up to 1600x1200.

Uh really depends on the game, if it was Crysis or UT3 I think it would benefit from the extra memory. But then again I imagine most games won't be nearly demanding as those and the performance wouldn't really be much differnt, but I'd still feel more secure with 640MB of ram.

the HD 2900XT maxed everything for me at 1920x1200 so get that at least I can tell you its awsome and the new drivers ROCK
at that res both imo are equal i would also get the 2900XT but thats just my preference really.
Either way you will be happy, but personally I would go with the HD2900XT.
You will be satisfied whit both cards. Dont worry. Just pick whichever you like more.
