Ok heres the deal, there is so much contradiction on all these hardware forums about which to get, and what matters more , Higher clock speed / overclockerbility / 4 cores?I mean, from my stand-point, I dont want to have to upgrade for 3 years ANYTHING except possible the graphics card (9800 series) , I dont particually want to have a P35 board just for the sake ofhaving it, I would rather a cheaper Quad/Duo core board with only DD2 ram supposrt (Asus Pn5).Now what should I be getting? Q6600 , or E6750 .... 0.2 GHZ difference ... I'm not an overclocker, I mean before I visited these forums regulally, I didnt even know it existed and didnt miss it.Currently using a 3.2 GHZ Pentium 4 ... it maxes everything, If a 2.4 GHZ core plays Crysis on ultra high (Dev confirmed) , then why overclock in the first place?I just want a damn cpu that will last me 2-3 years for games, on PLAYABLE (30-40 FPS).Yet people on these kinda forums are making out everyone overclocks and therefore doesnt really give an honest opinion from the AVERAGE PERSONS NEEDS.Q6600 or E6750 ... that is the question, dont count in any Uneeded Enthuasiast extra's.Thank You (abit blunt but the contradiction is so bad)Q6600 2.4 GHz or E6750 2.6 GHz for non overclockers?
Well if your not OCing why not get a 6000+ its about as good as a E6600 and is cheaperQ6600 2.4 GHz or E6750 2.6 GHz for non overclockers?
id go with the quad core. at the mo theres isnt much to show it off (supreme commander is the only game i can think of that takes advantage of all 4 cores) but devs are going to be using more as time goes by. valve are really big on multi core tech as are many other devs. imho the quad core chip will be more future proof.
Personally i would go with quadcore because it is more ''future proof''
Q6600 it can max any game, also in the future games will start supporting it, also games like Crysis support Quad core.
Q6600 it can max any game, also in the future games will start supporting it, also games like Crysis support Quad core.
well an X24200 would max any game out, the cpu is not the hardware that produces the graphics, the gpu does most graphical calculations.
q6600 would get my vote. im even thinking bout getting one of them real soon, once the price drops are more spread around australia. and im an overclocker.. didnt u say u wanted a guide on how to overclock? JOKING ;)
I wouldnt overclock as soon as I buy a CPU, it voids the warrenty, but thats just me.
Huray finally a clear winner :D , I will jsut get the Q6600 (Price drop has already happened here in the UK).Thanks all, thats been bugging me for months!
btw where you getting it from?
